With Angel The Taste of Fragrance, Thierry Mugler has created a spicy and aromatic cologne suggestive of the food in France’s top restaurants. Thierry Mugler even tapped Michelin-starred French chef Hélène Darroze to create recipes based on the company’s fragrances. The top notes are crisp and light with bergamot, lavender, coriander and mint. The heart notes add spices and woods to the scent through patchouli, red pepper and cedar aromas.
The base notes include the earthier smells of coffee, tonka bean and musk mixed with balsamic styrax and sweet vanilla. The resulting recipe gives you a cologne that is perfect for formalwear in cooler months, but versatile enough to be worn for casual events.
The Angel cologne line is known for its iconic flask shaped applicator. The black color of the flask hints at the dark balsamic and coffee base while the bright red star highlights the red pepper concentrate that was the inspiration for this fragrance.
With a past life as a professional dancer and interior decorator, French designer Thierry Mugler found his calling in 1972 when at the young age of 24, but older through his various life experiences, he was hired by the firm Moonlighting to design their Italian ready to wear line.
