Serge Lutens was born in Lille, France, in 1942. Despite wanting to be an actor, he worked as an apprentice at a hair
salon when he was only 14. It was here that he cultivated his love of beauty and used the experience to practice makeup and photography. He collaborated with magazines that included Vogue Magazine and designers such as Christian Dior and Shiseido before launching the label that would take his name in 2000. Both the brand and its founder have won multiple awards for services to arts, culture and the beauty industry.
