Released in 2019, Roger & Gallet L'Homme Vetyver is a men’s oriental woody fragrance enhanced by citrus, spicy and green accords. The opening notes pair succulent, honeyed mandarin orange with the brisk fragrant scent of the common sweet orange, also called citrus sinensis. In the heart, vetiver’s dry, smoky and chocolate-like aroma contrasts well with the sweet hesperidic opening notes. The middle notes also include familiar
vanilla-like and resinous tones of benzoin and the fragrant spiky essence of cinnamon. This scent closes with myrrh, a characteristically earthy and aromatic base note.
Roger & Gallet was founded in 1862 by Charles Armand Roger and Charles Martial Gallet. The two launched this French perfume label after purchasing the fragrance catalog of Jean Marie Farina, the great grand-nephew of Johann Maria Farina. Once they debuted the classic Jean Marie Farina Extra Vielle, the duo went on to produce luxurious perfumed soaps and additional scents. The label has released over 50 fragrances to date.
Merchant Charles Armand Roger and banker Charles Martial Gallet founded the French perfume company, Roger & Gallet, in 1862 when they purchased the family fragrance business of Jean Marie Farina.
