Karagoz by Nishane Perfume. Launched in 2017, Karagoz is an aromatic fruity unisex fragrance with additional woody, green and floral accords.
Karagoz is a Turkish word that translates as “black eye” and refers to a central character in traditional shadow play theatre that was popular throughout the Ottoman Empire. Crafted by perfumer Jorge Lee, this scent starts with refreshing notes of juicy pineapple and black grape accented with mixed herbs. The heart then blooms with intoxicating jasmine
and fresh, clean neroli enhanced by the earthy scent of patchouli. Base notes of vetiver, amber and oud finish the fragrance with their characteristically dry, warm and nutty essences.
Nishane is a Turkish fragrance label founded by Mert Güzel and Murat Katran. Starting with the 2013 release of several signature scents, the company went on to produce more than 30 perfumes. Inspired by Istanbul’s rich heritage and culture, the duo focuses on crafting niche scents that reflect the city of their birth.
