First established as a soap maker in 1854, this old fragrance house was founded in the small town of Stolberg, Germany by Michael Maurer and stepson Andreas Wirtz. The original Tabac scent was released in 1959, and its extreme popularity has led to numerous variations over the decades, including the spicy wood cologne Extreme (1990), the citrus floral Individuelle (1993), the fresh woody Suggestion (1997) and the fresh citrus Tabac Sport (2003).
