Good for fall and winter night wear, the scent opens with top notes of angelica, olibanum, lime, and cinnamon. The symphony continues with middle notes of Virginia cedar, vetiver, Egyptian jasmine, labdanum, and cloves. It concludes on bottom notes of incense, myrrh, and musk.

The perfume house borrows from the fragrance recipes written by alchemist Alvise Gritti, who was inspired and influenced by his travels between Venice and the Far East. Alvise, a Venetian ambassador to the Ottoman court, was also a noted scholar and merchant, and his father, Andrea, was the 77th Grand Doge of Venice.
