The Afternoon Of A Faun by Etat Libre D'orange Perfume. The Afternoon of a Faun was introduced in 2012.
It is a fruity and spicy scent that will work well during the day and into the evening. The top notes will catch your attention and consist of bergamot, cinnamon and pepper. The middle notes are floral with iris, immortelle and incense and the base notes give the perfume warmth with leather, myrrh and benzoin.
Etienne de Swardt was born in Pretoria, South Africa, in 1970. He moved to France
in his early twenties and it was there, in 2006, that he launched the perfume house Etat Libre d’Orange, which translates from the French to ‘the Orange Free State’. The brand wanted to create a ‘fantasy world to demonstrate the beauty in strangeness’ and this scent is possibly inspired by a poem and the ballet of the same name. The glass bottle for this fragrance expresses this with the label showing a picture of the mythical creature resplendent with horns.
