500 Years by Etat Libre d'Orange Perfume. 500 Years is a unisex fragrance that was released in 2019.
This floral perfume starts out with a top note of bergamot. The middle notes are cacao and Turkish rose, and woodsy notes make up the base.
South African native Etienne de Swardt founded Etat Libre d'Orange, or "Free State of Orange," back in 2006. De Swardt previously worked for Givenchy, where he created fragrances for cats and dogs. However, he felt constrained by the restrictions of the
perfume industry. He thus founded his own brand that wrote its own Declaration of Independence. The brand is now famous for bold fragrances and controversial images. It even released a cologne inspired by the erotic artist Tom of Finland. De Swardt also emphasizes subversive concepts and simple packaging for his scents. In fact, his first few fragrances came in identical bottles that only featured the company name. Later perfumes came with visual aesthetics produced by Ich & Kar.
