Canoe has been sold as a man's Cologne since early 60's
The product in the 60s was a Cologne with a much stronger fragrance. Today Canoe seems to be watered down but it still is the most pleasing fragrance around.

This was originally the young women's cologne "Blue Jeans" back in the mid to late 70's!!! I was a Freeman in high school when it came out and I immediately loved it!!! I always got compliments on the fragrance and even a young teenager could afford it. Then once we fell in love with the fragrance it disappeared and Canoe for men was born...

Stay away from the "unboxed colonge"
Comes in a plain glass spay bottle with just the word CANOE on it. Not like the boxed version. Does not smell like canoe one ioda. I think it is a rip off.

always my favorite for over 50 years
have used cologne for over 50 years.....with change of dana's ownership product is now packaged in china (what isn't) and it is very difficult to find cologne....so now have to settle for the eau de toilette, which is not as strong or long lasting as the cologne.....but still same great fragrance..... perfume.com has best price on this product....

I love this scent.
I have loved this fragrance since I was a teenager. I used to wear the girls version which was AMBUSH. I was very sad when that was discontinued. Someone told me that the men's version was CANOE so I tried that and love it. What I don't like is that it has been so hard to find. I am very thankful I found it here. I've missed it and so has my husband. I would prefer it in larger size. Also I wish Canoe was only made in this strength of the scent. More people would love it and use it. I get so many compliments and inquiries about what I'm wearing but people don't want to sit still for the explanation that not everything labeled Canoe smells this rich. The cheap mixture and eau de toilette is nasty watered down mess. Those other things should not be able to have the same name. More would sell if people knew about this product. Please don't ever stop having it available.
