Banana Republic is a fashion brand owned by the Gap. It began as a two-store chain in 1978. The company sold unique safari-themed clothes, and the stores mimicked this
jungle theme. The shops often included real trees and plants along with steam and fog. Once the Gap purchased the company in 1983, it switched over to more upscale apparel. The brand first entered the perfume industry in 1995 and has since sold dozens of scents for men and women. The company even has a line of fragrant candles. The perfumes are part of a partnership with Inter Parfums and are produced by noses such as Jerome Epinette and Beatrice Piquet.
