Robert Piguet founded his own fashion house in France. He pursued this path against his family wishes, who wanted him to go into a career in finance. The fashions made under the company name were designed to be utterly elegant, and some of the best fashion designers in the world were hired by Piguet to work on apparel lines. Many perfumes have also been released by the brand, and expert perfumer, Aurelien Guichard, worked on Gardenia.
