Prada Olfactories Purple Rain by Prada Cologne. Prada Olfactories Purple Rain is a floral woody musk unisex released in 2015.
Like most of the Olfactories collection, this scent is the creation of Daniela Roche Andrier. It opens with top notes of galbanum and bergamot. Extracted from flowering Ferula herb plants, galbanum is a fragrant gum resin with powdery, balsamic and pine-like accords. It’s an excellent companion to bergamot’s spicy and floral citrus note. Iris and neroli compose the
center, bringing in powdery, honeyed, bitter and orange facets. Vetiver in the base notes adds dry, grassy, earthy and woody tones.
Prada was established in 1913 by designer Italian Mario Prada. He and his brother Martino began crafting luggage and fine leather goods in Milan. Since 1978, the company has been under the direction of Mario’s granddaughter Miuccia. The brand expanded into shoes, women’s couture and menswear before launching its first fragrance in 2003. It has almost 90 scents in its collection.
