The Uncompromising Sohan by Penhaligon's Cologne. The Uncompromising Sohan is a men’s Oriental spicy cologne that was announced in 2017.
It has head notes of rose, saffron, and pink pepper and heart notes of vetiver and labdanum. The base notes are Laotian oud and sandalwood. The dark red liquid is contained in a glass bottle with a gold eagle topper. The fragrance wears best on fall and winter evenings.
William Penhaligon started Penhaligon’s as a barbershop in 1870. Inspired by the Turkish
baths on Jermyn Street, where the shop was located, he created Hammam Bouquet in 1872. In 1902, the Duke of Marlborough requested a bespoke fragrance, which led to the creation of the popular Blenheim Bouquet, named after Blenheim Palace. The shop was destroyed in 1941, and the company was sold in the 1950s but fell into obscurity. Interest in the brand was renewed, leading to the opening of the Covent Garden flagship store in 1975. Puig is the owner of the company.
