Oscar Rose is a romantic blend of floral and musky accords that is about as close to a freshly cut rose as you can get. Introduced in 2016, this fragrance is lushly floral almost all the way through. The fragrance opens with slightly green, fresh notes of pear, freesia and lily-of-the-valley. Slowly, you get to the heart of the perfume, where rose is the star of the show. Oscar de la Renta is the eponymous fragrance line of fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. He was born in the Dominican Republic in 1932, and studied art and fashion in Spain, later working at fashion houses there, including Balenciaga, who was considered Spain’s most famous designer. He debuted his own line in 1965, and introduced his first fragrance in 1977.
Born in the Dominican Republic, Oscar de la Renta traveled to Madrid in 1950 when he was 18 years of age to study painting. He soon found himself drawn to fashion and design and started working in the industry by sketching for Spanish fashion houses which eventually led to an apprenticeship with Cristóbal Balenciaga.
