Citrusy top accords make the fragrance bold and memorable. Bergamot fruit, neroli and Sicilian lemon create a refreshing opening to this scent. The middle notes include Spanish jasmine, tuberose, sweet ylang-ylang and orange blossom form the powdery, exotic heart. Tonka bean, tolu balsam, beeswax and white woods give this aroma a warm and earthy dry down.
In 1932, Spanish fashion designer Oscar de
la Renta was born. As a student at Madrid’s Academy of San Fernando, he studied painting and cultivated an interest in fashion design. He sketched for various fashion houses and began working for Cristobal Balenciaga as the lead couturier in the 1950s. In 1963, he loved to America to work for Elizabeth Arden. He launched his own fashion label in 1965.
Dozens of fragrances have been released under this brand, and many more are in development. These perfumes were designed by Carlos Benaim, Sonia Constant, Harry Fremont and others.
Born in the Dominican Republic, Oscar de la Renta traveled to Madrid in 1950 when he was 18 years of age to study painting. He soon found himself drawn to fashion and design and started working in the industry by sketching for Spanish fashion houses which eventually led to an apprenticeship with Cristóbal Balenciaga.
