A bit pungent at first, but gets better after the dry down.
Straight out of the bottle the smell makes me think of an old lady's bathroom. It has a bitter, patchouli-like odor at first. After it dries down a bit that annoying odor does give way to fresher and sweeter notes. I would classify this as oriental with a subtle spiciness. Overall I don't expect to wear this much but I do like the uniqueness of it; it definitely doesn't smell like your typical perfume / cologne. Given that fact I'm tempted to try other fragrances from this brand. Bottle design is quite unique as well as the actual product is not blue it just has a blue liquid on the outer layer that moves around the edges like ocean waves.
