Maria Nielli was born in Turin, Italy, in 1883. She moved to France at a young
age where she fell in love with fashion. She founded Nina Ricci in 1932 and it created its first fragrance in 1946. The bottle for this scent is as eye-catching as its ingredients. It is a vivid blue color and is shaped like an apple, complete with a heavy gold stalk and leaf as the stopper. The top of the apple is decorated with turquoise and white crystals that give the perfume an overall look of luxury.
With her son, Robert, Nina Ricci opened her elegant Parisian couture house in 1932, specializing in luxury fashion and fragrance. Madame Ricci exuded a flair for fashion, capturing the personality of her clients in her designs for them.
