Chrysalide Now or Never is a 1998 fragrance for women, inspired by the lush luxury of a bed of fresh flowers. The scent features sweet, tart top notes of mandarin and pomegranate combined with a spicy burst of pink pepper. At the heart, you’ll notice a blend of herbal and floral notes including cardamom, clover, jasmine and narcissus. The base of the scent is characterized by notes of plum, sandalwood and vanilla. This scent was released by legendary French perfume and cosmetics company Lancome, which released its first five fragrances at the Brussels World Fair in 1935 and launched its original skin care cream in 1936. The company was purchased by L’Oreal in 1964 to comprise the parent’s company’s division of luxury products. Their La Vie Est Belle perfume has continuously been the best-selling fragrance in France since 2014.
Though founded in 1935, the history of Lancome begins years earlier when the relationship of its founder, Armand Petitjean came to a head with Francois Coty with whom he had collaborated to produce perfumes.
