In 1976, 23-year-old Olivier Baussan established L’occitane En Provence, a French-based cosmetics brand. Although
this brand would eventually grow into an international empire, the company had humble beginnings in local markets. Baussan began his vision by producing rosemary essential oil, and he later established a boutique in a small Provence village. Soon he acquired a soap factory in Manosque and began creating vegetable-based soaps. Today, there are shops in over 80 countries with a product line that spans body care products, fragrances and home scents. The brand has created over 150 perfumes and colognes in its history.
