Iris Pourpre by Keiko Mecheri Perfume. The purple iris is one of the most iconic symbols of nobility, faith, purity and wisdom.
The ancient Greeks planted them on the graves of their most cherished women, while in the middle ages they were found in many regal coat-of-arms. Today, they are common for weddings, due to their association with hope and devotion. Keiko Mecheri Iris Pourpre was introduced in 2009 to celebrate the merging of two souls into a common destiny. The scent opens with
invigorating white and purple irises for a floral yet candy-sweet beginning. Powdery orris root, excited and bubbly neroli oil and an indecipherable blend of citruses enhances the burst of arctic cold from the sparkling top. Full-bodied vetiver forms an earthy heart along with intensely erotic ylang ylang. The base is long-lasting with wet, outdoorsy oakmoss and the incense aroma of herbal patchouli. The white floral tone and chypre accord is strikingly sweet yet not cloying or demanding. It’s an instant love story with a hint of a girlish crush, yet a stronger sense of mature romance and seduction.
Keiko Mecheri designs perfumes with subtle tones from her native Japan. Often Oriental, the results are always captivating and luxurious.
