With a name like Sun, it’s no surprise that perfumes and colognes in this line are made to be worn when the weather is warm and the sun is shining. This daytime summer fragrance features a bright opening of cardamom with solar and ozone notes which emanate the feeling of summer. The smell of the sea emerges in its heart, with notes of apple, orange blossom and ambergris as well. The base emerges with vanilla and patchouli notes for a balanced finish.
Jil Sander was born in Germany and launched her first boutique in 1967. Her first perfume debuted in 1979 and when her fashion line took off in popularity in the 1990s she began licensing her name to high quality perfumes . The Sun line first began with annual fragrances releases for women in 1989, with colognes for men joining in 2002. The Jil Sander Sun Fizz fragrance is the 2016 edition and is a popular selection.
German born Jil Sander was educated as a textile engineer and had worked as a fashion editor before opening her first boutique in 1967 at age 24. She sold the wares of Thierry Mugler and Sonia Rykiel, mixed with a few of her own designs until founding her own house the next year.
