Halston, a fashion house in the United States, was founded by Roy Halston Frowick in the 1970s. Though he had garnered a great deal of success as a clothing designer, Frowick ventured into fragrance design and in 1974, he released his first fragrance. Since then, the brand has added 16 perfumes to its catalog and now operates under its parent company, Elizabeth Arden.
Born in Des Moines Iowa in 1932, designer Roy Halston developed an interest in sewing from his mother and began creating hats and altering clothes at an early age. He moved to Chicago in 1952 and while working as a window dresser, studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
