French perfume house Guerlain has become a legend with over 175 years in business. The house started in 1892 selling toiletries and custom made perfumes for clients. Eventually, the founder Pierre-Francois Pascal Guerlain became an official perfumer in royal courts across Europe. The family legacy endured until 2002 upon the retirement of Jean-Paul Guerlain, the nose behind this fragrance. Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey (Lvmh) acquired the family-owned business in 1994 continuing the legacy.
