American fashion designer Donna Karan founded her eponymous fashion company in 1984. Daughter of a tailor and a model, Karan, a graduate of the Parsons School of Design, is known for her women's collections and interchangeable pieces that women can wear throughout the day. The brand's first perfume was launched in 1992, in partnership with Estee Lauder. The company is currently owned by French luxury goods conglomerate Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (Lvmh).
