Annick Goutal began making perfumes late in life after a long, successful career as a model and pianist. She got her start in the beauty cream
industry and focused heavily on the packaging and fragrance of her products. She later worked with perfumer Henri Sorsana creating fragrances, which she compares to "precious bouquets." Some of them were inspired by her daughters. Though it is rare to find perfumers who are not tied to a large corporation, Annick Goutal is, in her own words, "making music on her own."
