Always refreshing
Definitely unisex. It's not overwhelming, just a subtle touch of freshness. I visited the 4711 factory in Köln in 1971! I was 12. It was a filthy pouring wet day and the factory was on the way to the main train station. So there also some linking of fresh Spring rain with the scent for me. It's also easy to create sceny layers with this.

Tropical scent
I bought the 90ml tester bottle quite some time ago. I found the smell too harsh. All I get is the hard overpowering smell of citronella and its dirivitives. I use it when outside during the late afternoon and early evening to keep the mosquitos off me which it does rather successfully. I will not be purchasing this again.

Lovely smell but doesn't last long enough
The fragrance doesn't last at all. I think that the most annoying part about the brand. The citrus smell is great not only on your body but clothes and bedsheets. I definitely recommend it for that rather than wearing it and thinking it would last an hour.

My husband has been using 4711 for more that 30 years.
My husband uses 4711 every morning and it last the whole day, When we goto a party he takes a bath and 4711 again. Usually he put cologne in his handkerchief. Remenber he is a 83 years old man and he always takes a handkerchief in the back of his pants. We are a different generation. Mrs. Rosselli.

I am so glad that I ordered the smallest bottle. This holds it's smell not even 5 whole minutes. Strange smell at first, the it's smells ok BUT AGAIN, after 5 minutes there's not even a trace of a smell. Don't waste your money.

I love this!
I 1st heard about No. 4711 years ago on the British comedy series Are You Being Served?, and I've always been intrigued by it. And now that I've tried it for myself, I can gladly say that I'm not disappointed. It has a lemony smell that I love, and it's a great everyday cologne.

This is a hot weather necessity!
I first started using 4711 54 years ago. There were many years when I could not find it anywhere. Thank You Perfume.com!!! I use it lavishly after bathing — even before bed. It smells so wonderful and fresh but is never overpowering. (If you are looking for something that will last all day, this is not for you.) But if you want to feel cool and refreshed in hot muggy weather 4711 fills the bill. I have been buying the 27oz size (That is nearly a quart!). It lasts about 4 summers. However, if never goes bad; just keeps smelling and feeling wonderfully fresh. Can't live without 4711 in the summer! Again, thank you, Peerfume.com!!

I would have a bottle on hand

Disappointed
I used after shower and my husband commented it smelled like window cleaner and alcohol. I could detect a smell that wasn't unpleasant, so decided to keep trying it. Next day put it on for day, and again thought it smelled kind of pleasant, but weak. It was gone before I even made it to the car. For the price, it is not worth it to me. I would have to reapply it constantly. Hubby could not smell it on me either, and I like a fragrance that stays with me. Maybe just my chemistry?
