Beginning as a florist, the founder then turned to creating unique fragrances by using a minimal amount of scents. The idea behind this was to allow wearers to create custom scents by layering perfumes. Estee Lauder became the parent company of the brand in 1999. Some perfumers who designed the fragrances include Christine Nagel, Celine Barel and Pierre Negrin.
