Review of Sira des Indes by Zhara The Haflacrat
Despite some reviews claiming that this is "just" a Foodie fragrance, the Floral is what jumps out and sings first, loudest, and foremost. This is Patou, afterall. Once the intense and quite upscale floral has a chance to dry down a bit, then the banana and other fruit accords have their moment - but make no mistake, the floral remains the star, with fruit just as background noise. And these aren't the brown-flecked ripe bananas from your kitchen counter, and they aren't the caramelized treats from a Bananas Foster - instead, these are the slightly green, quite chilled and subdued bananas from a banana split. The whole fragrance takes a turn for the chilly, with one of the frostiest vanillas coming out, and blending with the cool fruit accords to make - yes - you guessed it - a fantastic ice cream aroma that has pretty nifty lasting power. When the final basenotes of white must emerge, the fruit and vanilla remain, and of course, the very feminine floral never completely stops. Take into account the whole thing: floral, chilled fruit and icy vanilla, just a hint of musk - and you have yourself one nice First Date at an Ice Cream Parlor. Which is great if you like foodie fragrances, and I do.
