The Miyake Design Studio, founded in 1970, has been a centre for innovation for the designer producing high-end women’s fashions and perfecting new techniques and innovations that are used for his creations. His education at the Tama Art University and time spent in both Paris and New York have afforded him the necessary experience and exposure to produce products that are distinctly unique, yet appealing to the masses— Issey Miyake is the designer of the signature black turtleneck worn by the late co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs. Issey Miyake launched his first perfume, a light aquatic floral scent, L'eau d'Issey, in 1992 and the men’s cologne, L'eau d'Issey Pour Homme in 1994. Other scents followed such as the exquisite and seductive perfume, L'Eau d'Issey Reflets d'une Goutte and the refreshing L'Eau d'Issey Summer for women both in 2008 and the men’s colognes L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme in 2004 and the mysterious L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Eau Fraiche 2006.
