First launched in 1930, leading couturier Jean Patou created Joy by Jean Patou fragrance as a gift to American women who could no longer afford his clothes following the stock market crash of 1929. I got this perfume as a gift. It is very heavy and traditional. I tried it couple of times and then I couldn't use it. It is so strong I couldn't wear it. If you like older heavy perfumes get this otherwise it is very hard to wear this perfume. I cannot smell it it is so heavy and old.
