CATALYST by Halston is a rare blend of spice and earthness, its unique as it spreads when you wear it and makes your surroundings pleasent and comfortable.. I have had people say its just soothing and breezy. like someone said it can create your identity. Sure its one of my favorites. I recomend it to everyone.

Catalyst is one of those rare colognes that smells even better when I put it on, than it did in the bottle. Its smell is a little on the spicey side with a sort of earthiness. This is probably my favorite cologne of all time, and the scent that many people identify me with. I literally have people tell me, "You smell like Matt", when I wear this. I don't know if it will work as well for you as it does for me, but at this price I'd recommend you try it.

I have used Catalyst since it came out, and, with my body chemistry, I think it smells great on me, and so does my wife. I find it hard to break down the individual scents that blend together, but, they blend well on me. The only diasppoinment is that the after shave lotion is only available in the gift sets, but, I guess that's better than not at all. It is a distinctive scent, that is better on me than almost all the more expensive scents.

This stuff really isn't half bad, for the price. Since this stuff can be picked up so cheap I would say it's peers are more along the lines of Brut and Old Spice which Catalyst performs very favorably againest. Nobody will try to tell you that this is a peer of a good Armani or Ralph Lauren cologne but it works as something to splash on after a work-out or a day outside. It is a fairly light and spicy scent with just a hint of musk. Longevity isn't too bad. It also comes in one of the coolest/strangest (take your pick) bottles that I've seen. Overall the scent isn't something that I would ever buy again, but for a 10 year old kid wanting to get his first cologne this is a great alternative to the ever present Brut.

I’ll always have a special place in my heart for catalyst. It was the first cologne I got for my 12th birthday It must have been on the clearance rack even back when it first came out. It smells kind of green and sweet, with a musky base. I love to smell it on me, but I don’t think others share my enthusiasm. Well, what do they know?
