Review of Gucci Pour Homme by Linda

The first time I ran across this fragrance was while in the Grand Cayman Islands. I instantly fell in love with it. The fragrance is unique and nothing like you run across when smelling mens fragrances (that most smell cheap to me) This is royally delicious! I got 2 bottles of this for my husband. He loved it as well and gets many complements on it. This is another fragrance that I will NOT let him run out of.

This secent I really do like for my husband to wear. It is a very masculine scent with a mysterious side to it. It definately lingers in my memories. It is definately an evening cologne or for special occasions. Very sensual and exotic too. It is very unique that it isnt like all of the other "boring" scents out these days. One of my favorites. Some of the middle eastern colognes have a similar notes to them. I am sure this is were they got there idea. Oud-is what they are called.

Its a masculine smell. Reminds me of the smell of a Greek Orthodox Church. Incense like. Wear this and expect to recieve plenty of compliments.

This woody, incense-like cologne is deep, mysterious and classy. It is redolent of old catholic churches, men in smoking jackets and the grooming of horses. It is a total aphrodisiac! I loved it so much I bought the fragrance for myself even though its for men.

I LOVE THIS SCENT. IT IS CERTAINLY DEFINITIVE, LIKE QUITE NO OTHER I KNOW. DEFINITELY FOR EVENING. IT IS ALMOST INTOXICATING WHEN YOU FIRST SPRAY IT ON, VERY COMPLEX AND MYSTERIOUS, BUT IN PLEASING WAY. AN INSPIRING FRAGRANCE. I HAVE NOT NOT FOUND A MEN'S COLOGNE AS MUCH TO MY LIKING SINCE PATOU FOR MEN, WHICH HAS REGRETABLY BEEN DISCONTINUED.

Guuci PH is a very woody and dark scent. It starts out with a whiff of white pepper that's dry and spicy. It then dries down through a delicate incense to arrive at its very dark and woodsy core. The overall impression is that of being in a sauna where the sharp smell of hot wood pierces the nose. Very dry and woodsy...very mature. Gucci PH is a great scent that seems to work best in formal settings, day or night. It's not a very complex scent, just the rich aroma of wood...both strong and comforting. A new classic, indeed.

Gucci Pour Homme smells like a grass fire. Sadly, it gives me a migraine. I wish it was less smoky, or had some spicy or sweet topnotes to ad to the rich aroma. As it is, it just smells like an opening of fresh pencil shavings followed by a base of smoke.

My friend at work wears this and gets a lot of compliments about the scent from people that come through! He claims he got it from his dad and even for his dad's age range it's awesome! He's mid 20's...this has a mature, distinct scent and it's great for everyday use!

Many a times when i am unsure about big bottle and high cost, I order the mini's to just test how good the bottle is and then order a couple of bottles as gifts for friends. The tester/mini bottles end up being used by guests, kids or myself and I end up saving on buying good perfumes at amazing costs. However this one needs no tester/mini...this one is a winner all along. Perfect gift for your man. It smells amazing and stays for long.

Review of Gucci Pour Homme by John Smith

Like many other high-fashion companies, Gucci began as a small, family-owned saddlery and leather goods store. Guccio Gucci was the son of an Italian merchant from the country’s northern manufacturing region. As a young man, he travelled to Paris and London, where he gained an appreciation of cosmopolitan culture, sophistication, and aesthetics. Gucci opened his first boutique in the family’s native Florence in 1921 and quickly built a reputation for quality, hiring the best craftsmen he could find to work in his atelier. In 1938, Gucci expanded and a boutique was opened in Rome. Guccio was responsible for designing many of the company's most notable products. In 1947, Gucci introduced the bamboo handle handbag, which is still a company mainstay. During the 1950s, Gucci also developed the trademark striped webbing, which was derived from the saddle girth, and the suede moccasin with a metal bit. Guccio and his wife Aida Calvelli had a large family, six children in all, though only his sons—Vasco, Aldo, Ugo, and Rodolfo—would play a role in leading the company. After Guccio's death in 1953, Aldo helped lead the company to a position of international prominence, opening the company’s first boutiques in London, Paris and New York. Even in Gucci’s fledgling years, the family was notorious for its ferocious infighting. Disputes regarding inheritances, stock holdings, and day-to-day operations of the stores often divided the family and led to alliances. As Gucci expanded overseas, board meetings about the company’s future often ended with tempers flaring and luggage and purses flying. Gucci targeted the Far East for further expansion in the late 1960s, opening stores in Hong Kong and Tokyo. At that time, the company also developed its famous GG logo (Guccio Gucci's initials), the Flora silk scarf (worn prominently by Hollywood actress Grace Kelly), and the Jackie O shoulder bag, made famous by Jackie Kennedy, the wife of U.S. President John F. Kennedy.

This is one of the best perfumes in the market. It is mild, long-lasting and attract a lot of women. It can be work for formal parties and all formal occasions. The only drawback is that the design of the bottle is such that the glass takes more room than the amount of perfume itself. This product if made more affordable will reach all sections of the society and will be a favorite of everyone.

WOW!!My son who lives in London gave me a bottle of your fabulously smelling EDT spray. The response I got from all the women who got a wiff of it was GREAT. They thought it was the greatest fragrance they had ever experienced. I am a middle school teacher and even my students loved it. I ran out of this spray a few years ago and I've used ENVY by your company, but not with the same female response. Even if I don't win the $100.00 dollar shopping spree,I still would say your GUCCI POUR HOMME is GREAT!!!!!

Review of Gucci Pour Homme by Chris W.

Gucci pour Homme is a very versatile scent. It is best used as an evening scent I believe, and best in the winter. This scent is slightly on the heavy side, and is extremely woody. I would not recommend this scent unless one likes woody fragrances. I, like most people, think this fragrance smells like pencil shavings. Although pencil shavings is nostalgic of elementary school, I am not a fan of woody (or extremely woody) scents. Although I can see how some will say this is classy, I just do not think that woody fragrances fit my personality too well. I would say that this is another try before you buy fragrance.

Gucci Pour Homme is one of the scents that I reach for to use for a variety of different situations. It's more or less pepper, wood, and incense (or some say burnt wood). It has a masculine and traditional enough scent to be worn by an older gentleman or to be worn in a formal situation. But, it is also dry, resinous, and incensey enough to be kind of edgy and worn by more youthful folks. It starts off with a blast of pepper, which quickly dries down to woods and incense. I find that it doesn't project a lot, meaning that you won't be overwhelming those around you. It lasts a decent length of time, but if there is one complaint I have it is that it does not last long enough. Overall, a dry, masculine scent that I find very versatile.

First, let me say this scent is not for everyone. It can be defined as an aquired taste. I gave my father some of this for his birthday, and he had to give it back to me. At first whiff, I’m sure the response will be, “It smells like a pencil sharpener from grade school!” This was my first response too. But once you overcome the initial shock, give it a few hours to settle in. Yes, the initial blast is peppery and woody. Some would say pungent. Did I mention it’s woody? However, once things settle down, the ambery, leathery, and sweet notes start to appear. And that’s when it hits you that this juice is fantastic. Good for nighttime and going out. Would never wear while the suns still out. Lasts until dawn.

intense. sexy. alluring in almost a bad boy, vulgar kinda way. i love it though- the intense combo of cedar and spices is just intoxicating, especially in the colder months. i also get the note of pencil shavings in here, kinda a youthful reminder of grade school. the bottle design is also very cool- it just feels good to pick that flacon up. i'd run out and get this one quick though, given gucci's record of discontinuing it's scents, by the time you read this it may already be hard to find.

Review of Gucci Pour Homme by Joseph Mounts

Gucci pour Homme was released in 2003 under the direction of Tom Ford, who stated he wanted this scent to be reminiscent of the classic men's fragrances of the 1970's. Whether or not this was accomplished is up for grabs, but this is a nice scent to have. It's overwhelmingly woody in nature, with a hint of amber in the basenotes. This fragrance brings to mind a classy and stylish man, who as a rule, is slightly overdressed for every occasion.

Gucci Pour Homme is a brave addition into a modern world filled with , sweet, citrus-aquatic scents. This is for a man who begs to stand apart from the crowd. Pepper, Wood and Ginger with a hint of incense along with leather on the dry down. Very Masculine...and Oh so sophisticated. I absolutely adore this cologne. It is reminiscent of a time when a mans cologne made a statement about who he was. This scent is elegance in a bottle. You can't help but feel classy when you wear it. And, Not only is it a wonderful scent...but it really has duration. It's sheer perfection...but definately not for boys. Confident, sophisticated men need only apply.

Review of Gucci Pour Homme by Robert Uli

Gucci Pour Homme is a signature scent for me. It is also a pretty controversial fragrance amongst those who really get into the fragrance scene. It has a very dry quality (meaning it is not sweet). It starts off with an initial blast of white pepper, which quickly gives way to burnt cedar and incense notes. The dry-down brings on some additional sweetness, maybe vanilla or amber, but it is not in any way a sweet scent. It is also not "oriental" in the way that so many other woodsy and/or spicy scents are these days. It is sort of a throw-back to a previous time when men's scents were more masculine, drier, woodsier, spicier, and without the cloying vanilla and tonka bean sweetness of so many of today's oriental scents. Oh yeah, and the bottle is very manly as well, very attractive, angular, blocky and masculine.
