Review of Grey Flannel by Andy

When I smelt Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene straight fom the bottle I wasn't sure if I liked the smell, it smelt "offensive" at first. But when I wore it, it felt different. More fresh, a sharp, green, woody, kind of fresh with a bit of flowery sweetness. After the opening the sharp green fades into a woodsy herbal violet smell. Smells great from start to finish. If this was the only fragrance I owned I'd be happy wearing Grey Flannel almost every day. I was expecting a barely wearable harsh old mans fragrance, but it's not. It's a great everyday manly scent (not overly manly) and most of all it's strong, long lasting and interesting. Eau Sauvage was my only recent staple fragrance so far, but now Grey Flannel joins it. I love it

I really like Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene, its very nice. But, I'm 20 and I just can't pull it off. It's too confident for me I suppose. Very nice & classy smell. I'm giving it away for an early father's day gift, I'll miss it!

Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene is the only cologne that my husband will wear. I bought it for him when we were dating years ago and believe that it is very sexy scent that goes perfect in the office during the day and also when going out at night.

I generally do not like colognes for men, but Grey Flannel is the exception. The scent is not sweet or overpowering; it has a clean, woodsy smell. I am reminded of fresh air, deep forest, and saddle leather. To me it is a classic scent that is appropriate for any occasion.

Review of Grey Flannel by Jeff Sorkin

As always, delivery and pricing are the best. Thank you. Although Grey Flannel is a very interesting scent, I've taken to more citrus-y colognes the past few years. Grey Flannel is more 'musky.' If I'm not mistaken it has pheremones from one of the furry creatures in our environment. But I'm not saying whcih!!!

Review of Grey Flannel by Fabrice Ovidio

Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene is quite an extraordinary, yet clean and simple scent. It opens with very intense, sharp, top green notes reminding you of fresh topsoil over bergamot and lemon notes. This should definitely give you a shock when you first try the fragrance. After marveling at how unusual this opening is, you'll soon notice the violet kicking in. From sharp green, the notes turn sweeter and flowery. Apart from the violet which remains present at all times (Grey Flannel is quite a long-lasting scent, by the way) you'll definitely notice rose, and also geranium. Sage is also present in the middle notes, so it's not too floral. Base notes of oakmoss (lovely), vetiver, cedar wood/sandalwood and tonka bean then join in. This is a very elegant, timeless, classic, unusual and well-made scent, in which all elements seem to effortlessly blend in. On top of everything, it is also very reasonably priced. A must-have, as far as I am concerned...

Balance perfect. Elegant, balanced sumptuous but never aggressive. Remember the deep perfume of a time. We note his presence, sober but incredibly charming. With him we exalts without giving boredom, on tiptoe with class and tact that distinguish men of honor.

my ONLY fragrance since 1976, what else to say. It would be helpful, if a "travel kit" with smaller bottles for short trips would be available.

Love Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene -- clean and crisp, it starts out with a distinct note of the sophistication, strong but not overbearing. The finish is green and smokey with hints of cigars and brandy. A cologne you can wear anywhere, from a Saturday at the market with the wife to the Wednsday power meeting with the boss. I enjoy it becasue it is long lasting, but not overwhelming, and I get great comments when ever I wear it. Women seem to linger and then they ask what I am wearing and where I got it from. I started wearing Gray Flannel in college and have never stopped. I have bounced around trying new fragances, but I always seem to come back to the old stand by..Grey Flannel.

I am female, and wear Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene. I actually bought it for someone, but gave them another cologne instead after I opted to keep this one for myself (I am a bit of a scent junkie). I was VERY surprised by this one as it is so cheap compared to some of my more expensive scents. I love this one for day wear in the winter....it is very cosy (definitely brings to mind flannel p.j.'s by a warm fire). The watery violet is wonderful, but it is far from being sweet. The scent to me is very soapy - a nice clean & fresh soap. It would smell wonderful on a man too, but I know on me it is one of those scents I just cannot resist smelling my wrist all day. Other pros are it is VERY long lasting. A couple light sprays on in the morning on my wrists and it is still there hours, and hours later. It also is wonderful packaging. Very classic & simple but reflects the juice inside very nicely. Definitely one I will be buying over and over, it has slowly started to replace some of my more "feminine" day time scents (Chance Eau Fraiche, D&G Light Blue, Bulgari The Vert) and is becoming a bit of a signature fragrance for me for those cold winter days.

I am most grateful to perfume.com. The only place I could find the item and brand which I prefer. My search over the years, from Dept. stores to discount houses was fruitless. When I inquired of the Manufacturer perfume.com was the only source in which it was available. Thank you again R. K. Zaleski

Review of Grey Flannel by Harold Divers

Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene eau de toilette is a sophisticated men's cologne that quickly establishes the user as a man of classic style and culture. The fragrance is semi-light but long lasting and hints of a man in a starched shirt, tie and a finely tailored suit. The cologne is best worn for dresser affairs when business atire or formalwear are required. Never overwhelming, but certainly curious, this cologne is created for the mature and successful man. As the name implies, the fragrance harkens back to an era of strong, silent, male leadership, courage and style.

woodsy and earthy but very reminiscent of the seventies, in a good way!! A great scent for a man or a woman - not too sweet, not too spicy.

This smells great on my dad as Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene was a Christmas gift to him. He just loves it so much. I would recommend this to all my male friends.

Review of Grey Flannel by Pam Ramsey

I purchased Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene as a Christmas gift. When I received it I was extremely happy with the appearance of the packaging. All I had to do was put it in a gift bag and it was ready to give! It looks like it was so much more expensive than I actually paid. The smell of Grey Flannel is wonderful!! I am so glad I made this purchase!

Hi! I don't know about you, but I am a female who wears certain male fragrances, Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene being one of them. I mix it with Jovan Musk for women (the one with the gold cap) and it is such a heavenly scent. So, if you are a woman who doesn't mind throwing caution to the wind, I recommend you try it! I don't think you'll regret it one bit.

Review of Grey Flannel by Robert Hoffman

I've been wearing Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene for 23 years, ever since my wife bought me my first bottle of this classic scent. It has always seemed to me to be intensely masculine with a depth and complexity of aroma that goes well with tweeds or cashmere, day or evening. I can't recall how many times people have asked me about the "good smell" I am am wearing. Even the chap who cleans my office tells me that my room always smells good! Ocassionally I vary Grey Flannel with other scents, but I always return to the old favourite.

A wonderful fragrance. Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene causes heads to turn and wonder and the ladies will ask just another question when around me. When making deliveries I get larger tips from the customers when wearing the cologne. I am also looking for the aftershave balm in the original scent.

Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene I could never think of as sexy. I guess because my beloved paternal grandfather wore this quite often and it reminds me of him. So, I find this cologne to be very comforting & nostalgic when I smell it. He always dressed to the nines and smelled terrific. This is a classic men's cologne; since when did that become a bad thing? Men from the 1800s-1960s used to dress classy without their undies showing. Also, they didn't wear their hat's backwards. If you long for a classy man, not boy, than this is for you or your loved one! 5 stars for all the wonderful memories!

Review of Grey Flannel by Margaret Sanders

Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene is one of those fragrence's that has been around for a long time, yet it is still one of the best. It is a classic, "manly" scent that my husband & men in my family still love. Not overwhelming, just a great scent. I think this is the best men's fragrence by Geoffrey Beene, even the newer ones.

Review of Grey Flannel by Scent Hound

A violet note really dominates this one. And a lovely violet it is! Be warned, though, that Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene goes on very green and mossy, and it takes some time and breathing room for it to settle in harmoniously. It works best for me when applied prior to shaving, giving the scent ample time to dry down before I get dressed. Use a light hand and you will be rewarded with a clean and incredibly long lasting scent. It has been called the scent for diplomats for good reason.

I first purchased Grey Flannel by Geoffery Beene for my husband back in 1978 in a gift set that was offered by Cosmetique by mail. Wow! It was a hit with both my husband and I. It had a smell that reminded us of soap, really clean, yet very sensual too. It was a hit then and still all these years later is quite a desirable scent.

Review of Grey Flannel by Anthony Chan

A classic scent. Very outdoorsy. This is what many of the older people wear and has a woody scent. While im out, i pass by many men in their 40-60s and they have Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene. I would not recommend younger men to wear this cologne because it may be a bit too strong and is not very balanced. A very classic scent that many people know and love, however. This is one of the classics if you enjoy collecting colognes.

My gentleman friend uses ONLY his "Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene" shower gel and acts like it was made exclusively for him. He does indeed smell delicious, very preppy and always a very clean light scent leftover. This is a classic scent he has used for many years, since the late 60's I believe, and now prefers just the shower gel saying it lathers well, rinses very throughly and leaves hius skin soft and nicely fragrant. Very masculine, howver not at all heavy and doesn't trigger my allergies nor his either. GREY FLANNEL has been a long-time favorite for many well-bred gentlman, one of which still uses it faithfully and lets me also enjoy how warm and nice he always smells.

Review of Grey Flannel by Jorge Velez

Grey Flannel Cologne for Men by Geoffrey Beene is a must have cologne. It has a sweet, elegant smell. Yet it's a cologne one can wear on a daily basis. It not a strong smell, it's a pleasing, smooth, gentle smell. It's a unique smell in which anyone can pin point from a distance. A great cologne to have in the collection.
