Heure Exquise is one of my favorites from the house of Annick Goutal. Its notes include iris, rose, and sandalwood, and its scent is meant to evoke the darkening sky of a summer twilight. This is an intense fragrance, best for evening wear or cooler weather, and it's a rich but subtle combination of woody notes, muted florals, and a warm powder without sweetness. Sophisticated and timeless, a real perfume-lover's perfume.

Review of Heure Exquise by Elizabeth Khan
This is such a different, beautiful scent! It was meant to smell like a garden at twilight, and that is the mood I get from it. Heure Exquise is a very dry iris (a note which also makes this scent powdery) and sandalwood scent. It does not scream for attention, rather it has a quiet, old-fashioned elegance. But don't confuse "old-fashioned" with "old" or "musty." Simply lovely!
