  Sirs: I'm usually a man who likes the "finer things" for my personal use. I spend a bit too much on my eyeglass frames, my wristwatch, my underwear, etc. My wife thinks I'm crazy. I used to wear Aramis and Tuscany, which have much heavier scents, so much that some people used to tease me that they knew when I was in the next room. But in the Charles de Gaulle airport, a few years back, I stopped in the duty-free shop and allowed a French sales women to talk me into a bottle of Roger & Gallet, Extra Vielle. My wife liked it immediately, commenting how it was so "understated and classy." I found it grew on me. It had something fresh, clean, and spring-time about it; quite the opposite of the heavy-hitters I'd been wearing. I use it as an all-over splash in summer, and as an after-shave all year. I'm just a guy who doesn't have anything left to prove, and I find with R&G I present myself in a less "in your face" manner. I recommend it to guys of a certain age who no longer feel they mustn't let pass any opportunity to prove they are alpha-males. If you've been buying less aggressive ties lately, Roger & Gallet Extra Vielle might be for you.
