school. McCarthy was appointed the director of French fashion house Chloe in 1997 where she remained until 2001 when a joint venture with Gucci allowed her to launch a collection under her own name. It was with this partnership with Gucci that McCartney came into her own garnering fame and recognition for her designs and bold fashion statements. Today her clothes are available not only in her stand alone boutiques, but in more than 600 retail outlets world wide.
McCartney launched her first fragrance in 2004. Entitled Stella, this sensual and romantic perfume is reminiscent of an armful of fresh roses and is perfect for evening wear. Notably successful, this prompted McCartney to introduce other floral inspired scents with Sheer deserving special mention. This singly named perfume is actually a series with the bottle and formulation changing yearly. It is floral based but the fruity components are increased or decreased depending on the version. Nevertheless, her perfumes remain classy and elegant and her fashion sense has translated very will into fragrance.
