An entity within the global fashion brand Benetton, Sisley is a French producer of cosmetics and fragrances acquired by the brand in 1976 yet headed by Count Hubert d’Ornano and his family
. A user of botanical ingredients and essential oils while it was still a concept among others in the 1970s, Sisley has adhered by its three fundamental values of innovation, quality and entrepreneurial spirit to find itself among the prestige brands of today.
Perfumes have been an important part of Sisley...
since the company was founded. Their first fragrance in 1974, Eau de Campagne was a revitalizing and natural unisex scent and was reintroduced as Eau du Soir in 1990 as a women’s perfume. This new scent was meant to be more elegant and formal in nature as shown by the sculpted 18 carat matte gold-plated stopper designed by Polish sculptor Bronislaw Krzysztof.
Soir du Lune is another fragrance meant to be more graceful in nature with another stopper designed by Krzysztof. It is not until the unisex Eau de Sisley series do we find the brand paying homage to its roots. Eau de Sisley 1 is a light, natural and simple scent while Eau de Sisley 2 is sparkling and lively and Eau de Sisley 3 is rich and exotic.
The aim of Sisley is not to sell a product, but to create an image and lifestyle that would appeal to their audience around the world and with the variety of scents they currently offer, this is certainly attainable.
