American born Joseph Abboud was born in the suburbs of Boston in 1950
. From an early age, Abboud was exposed to the world of fashion—his mother worked as a seamstress and stories abounded in his family of his great grandfather’s tailoring company, once the largest in Australia. When he was 16 Abboud found part time work at LouisBoston, one of the most influential clothing stores in the world. Abboud was awed by the stylish and glamorous offerings of the store and credits his time at LouisBoston...
as the turning point in his life.
Abboud attended university in Boston and then continued his studies at the Sorbonne in Paris. He joined Ralph Lauren in 1981 and eventually became associate director of menswear design. Abboud launched his own label in 1986 and created JA Apparel in 1988. He would eventually go on to win the Council of Fashion Designers of America award of Best Menswear Designer two years in a row—the first designer to do so. Abboud’s timeless and classic approach to menswear has made his clothing popular among those who rely on his no nonsense approach to dressing and looking well.
Joseph Abboud launched his first fragrance in conjunction with EuroItalia in 1994. His self titled cologne is a sharp masculine scent that is both sweet and spicy. The intoxicating blend of citrus rests on a perfect bed of woods making this scent light yet still demanding and mesmerizing. Not for the light of heart, Joseph Abboud is the perfect combination of class, maturity and mystery.
