The Dean and Dan moved to Milan in 1991 to work for Gianni Versace and then Diesel, who eventually funded and helped launch their brand, DSquared2. Their men’s collection debuted in 1994 while their women’s wear was introduced in 2003 along with a men’s underwear collection. Known for their tread setting work and elaborate fashion shows the Catens are a favorite among the celebrity class and were commissioned to design tour costumes for Madonna and Britney Spears.
In conjunction with ITF Group, DSquared2 launched their first fragrance in 2007. He Wood is an innovative fragrance with an aquatic floral note on a traditional woodsy base, and in homage to their Canadian roots, an alder wood frame protects the bottle. She Wood, introduced in 2008, again plays homage to the Catan’s Canadian roots with a flat wood frame protecting the feminine version of the popular He Wood. Other popular DSquared2 colognes in the He Wood collection include Rocky Mountain, Rocky Mountain Wood and Ocean Wet Wood.
