An explosion of fireworks, multiple star-studded outfit changes, violinists complete with golden headpieces, a 48-person all-female orchestra, and an Egyption-themed backdrop: it’s fair to say that Beyonce’s return to the stage was nothing less than spectacular.
It’s been a long four years since Beyonce headlined a stage (trust us, we’ve been counting) and her private concert at the opening of the new Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai did not hold back. It was a fitting return to see Queen Bey perform live at a hotel where rooms cost a rumored $100,000 per night!
This invite-only performance may have only lasted an hour, but Bey wasted no time performing some of our most-loved tracks and lighting up the stage with three whole outfit changes. And she did so in a seriously luxe series of ‘fits, adored with a huge $7.5 million worth of Lorraine Shwartz diamonds.
Kendall Jenner, Nia Long, and Jay-Z (and Bey’s entire family) were all sat in the audience and all eyes were on our fave celeb couple as Bey performed Crazy In Love.
If you didn’t quite catch an invitation to the show (we’re still convinced ours got lost in the mail) we’ll show you a few highlights from the night.
Officially, the night was supposed to be phone-free. But the good people of the crowd did the lord’s work for us and managed to snap a few photos and videos of Queen Bey strutting on stage.
Here’s a little sneak peek of Beyonce in action:
And can we take a minute to discuss this incredible yellow dress?
And we’ve got Vogue Magazine to thank for this beautiful bronze outfit, courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana.
Vogue Arabia took things one step further with the full reveal of outfits.
Each of Bey’s new outfits changed the vibe of the event with strong themes throughout of female empowerment and self-love.
She performed some of her most impressive ballads (with a full set of backing dancers) like “Be Alive”, “Freedom”, and “Spirit” but contrasted them against other top tracks like Etta James’ “At Last” as well as forever-faves like “Ave Maria“, “Halo“, and “Countdown“.
Our own personal highlights from the night? It’s gotta be Blue Ivy coming out on stage to perform “Brown Skin Girl” with her mom. A true entertainer (and how could she not be, with parents like Bey and Jay-Z?), Blue Ivy wore an incredible red sequined jumpsuit and a billowy skirt and flipped her braids while dancing effortlessly on stage.
Curiously, Bey didn’t perform any songs from her latest album, Renaissance. So here’s hoping that means a world tour is coming our way.
For the time being, we’re channeling all of our Beyonce vibes by spritzing the star’s best fragrances. So, if you smell Beyonce Rise in the air any time soon, just know that’s our way of manifesting a start to finish listen of Renaissance live on tour.
