I know, I know, January is in full swing. Nevertheless, now is still a great time to think about your New Year’s Resolution, and how you plan to stick to it. I find that rewarding or inspiring myself with something that looks or feels beautiful is a great way to keep my motivation up, so here’s a list of five classic fragrances I think might do the same for you!
Thierry Mugler’s MUGLER Aura

Best for: Resolutions involving getting your hustle on.
Aimed At: Women
Price Point: Semi-Luxe
This is a given! I got Aura for myself, because it smells like the professional I want to carry myself as. Rhubarb, green notes, and vanilla mix to create an almost minty accord that I just love, and while it might not be a particularly usual combination of notes, I still can’t recommend it highly enough.
Oscar by Oscar de la Renta

Best for: Resolutions involving casual, friendly situations.
Aimed At: Men
Price Point: Budget-friendly.
Oscar is a 70s scent that is masculine and spicy without being too intimidating or too much for the people around you — so if your resolution is something like “I want to be more friendly,” a scent like this might just make a great companion for you.
Dazzle by Paris Hilton

Best for: Resolutions involving your dating life
Aimed At: Women
Price Point: Budget-friendly
I absolutely love the inexpensive nature of Paris Hilton’s fragrance line. I think she’s got one of the best celebrity fragrance brands, and that’s not just because Dazzle is one of my favorites. It has cherry, orchid, apple, and peach notes, and I think it’s a great option for a casual date with a new beau.
Allure Homme Sport by Chanel

Best for: Resolutions involving your physical health
Aimed At: Men
Price Point: Luxury
Guys, if you want to really treat yourself ahead of your fitness and health goals, Allure Homme Sport by Chanel is an absolute classic to go with. The dominant accords of citrus and marine notes make it a gorgeous and unusual sport option for spring and summer.
Eau Parfumee Au The Vert by Bvlgari

Best for: Resolutions involving seeking inner peace and self-contentment
Aimed At: Anyone!
Price Point: Semi-Luxe
Green Tea is well known to be something that can help people be calmer and more focused, and I think this fragrance gets at that same idea. Green tea and citrus notes make this scent a beautiful scent for anybody looking for a little more calm in their lives, and it’s at a pretty reasonable price point.
A perfume expert and videographer, Murphy favors scents with minty, sporty notes, or that have cherries in them.
