I have purchased this classic perfume in retail stores and online. I love the online price and quick delivery to my door. Perfume.com does not sell a knock-off, nor a cheap substitute for Joy. This is the real deal!

I purchased a bottle of spray perfume and it smells awful. Had I known the Patou line is discontinued, I would not have bought it. It smells old and like cheap bathroom spray.

Jean Patou JOY was discontinued. I have read that the company and this brand was sold several times. Some question the authenticity of this perfume. I don't care if it is a copy or not if it smells like the original, which IMHO it does. This is my favorite fragrance ever - across all decades. The problem with this version, however, is that the scent does not last long - in fact it disappears very quickly. I will buy in different versions to see if that makes a difference in longevity.

Wear often, have several fragrance favorites

advertising this as PERFUME. It is NOT as box says TOILETTE. I personally only use the real PERFUME, NOT TOILETTE. I would be very unhappy with what I think is just an oversight, but I wouldn't receive what I want. Thank you.

I have used Joy for over 30 years! the price and authencicity is real

I got the sampler knowing that the perfume is very expensive. -as expensive as joy itself! I don't think I can take a whole bottle of memories. A sampler will do.

I love Joy but it's sometimes hard to find, so when I stumbled across your website, I was thrilled. I purchased the spray bottle twice so I can leave a bottle in my travel bag. Joy is fragrant and doesn't require a lot to be applied while lasting through out the day.

This fragrance was NOT ORIGINAL JOY! Someone took completely different ingredients to mimic the approximate original fragrance. It came out like Brittany Spears singing a Joni Mitchell song from Blue. It was just wrong.

It is a great perfume and unfortunately they stopped producing it so whatever is left around the world is all there is.

Joy is my signature fragrance. Unfortunately I can't wear it everyday since it is hard to find. I appreciate the samples for when I'm out and about.

I use this product after showering or bath. It gives me a sense of liberation and a feeling of natural freshness. It's classy fragrance is excellent for everyday use.

scent was not as I remembered. Much too strong

I use this perfume with light application when going out during the day. For evening, I'll add some extra dabs in those special places.

It has been my favorite for 50 years. I was not always able to afford it. Missed it so much. It takes me back to many wonderful experiences and places. It is a really great fragrance for my chemistry.

I have been buying this for my wife for 30 years I've always been very pleased with it very sweet smell I bought a bottle to my mother-in-law for Christmas and when she sprayed it on its spray smell like bus bug spray chemistry of the body has a lot to do with perfume smell so if you smell bad when you spray it on because the perfume does not go with your Chemistry I'm very happy with the perfume and will continue buying it till the day I die

My mother wore this all the time so when I saw it on this website I had to order it because it brings back good memories....however unfortunately, I'm returning it because it didn't smell the same and/or it was an old bottle! But the shipping/service is really good so I'll be back for sure.

The answers provided above apply to my wife's use of Joy by Jean Patou. I bought this for her. Joy has been her favorite perfume since she was a teenager attending the Royal Ballet School in London.

I cannot express my disappointment with this perfume. It has a really nice soft floral overtone. The undertone smells like a bowel movement. This is not the JOY my Mom used years ago.

It smells old and like cat urine

I first smelt this perfume over 60 years ago and was given as a present and waited for that time before i was given it again and what I have missed it is beautiful to walk and smell it with every step i take so many many thanks for making me a happy women

I got this perfume for Christmas from my dear husband. He bought it based on reviews on this site. I really tried to like the perfume, wore it several times and each time it gave me an intense headache that only went away after I shower to wash it off. To be sure it wasn't just me, I gave it to my husband to smell. He sprayed it in the air in our bathroom, sniffed it, turned green and ran out of the bathroom saying "OMG that perfume stinks!" He described the scent as chemical soup droplets trying to pass as fragrance that reminds him of those overpowering scents 90 year old women who lost their sense of smell would sometimes wear. It gave him a terrible headache too and now we use it to spray in the toilet after use just to get rid of it. Talk about a waste of money.

I wanted to own this classic perfume and hoped it would match my memory of it from years past. Either the bottle was stored for a decade and lost its fragrance, or my sense of the smell has been lost. It just wasn't the way I remembered it at all.

I have worn Joy for over 35 years and my love of its scent is just as strong, if not strong today than the first time I put it on. It is not for everyone but it is for me. I love the smell and beauty of roses and that is why I chose Joy as my go to fragrance.

I love Joy by Jean Pateau. Your prices are reasonable, allowing me to wear this fragrance for ALL occasions, daily.

Until Joy was discontinued, it was my signature scent. Now, I only wear it for special occasions.

I want to return it. Does not smell like Joy at all.

Joy has been around since 1930. I have loved it for many years. It's not for everyone. A person has to appreciate subtlety.

This fragrance has been very popular, so that in itself should have clued me re how it would strike my sent-buds. Happily I was cautious enough not to buy more than an ounce and also thank perfume.com for providing that smaller and less expensive option.--There's also an unpleasant post-scent after the initial spraying: it wafts a slight hint of tar....I'll be dispensing JOY on the bedsheets, where it will evaporate quickly enough so that I don't have to blame myself for wasting it but don't have to smell it much either.
