Demeter Monk Fruit by Demeter Cologne. Demeter Monk Fruit is a 2019 unisex fruity fragrance featuring only its titular fragrance note.
Also known as luohan guo, monk fruit got its nickname from the Buddhist monks who first cultivated and used it. The fruit grows on a perennial vine that’s native to southern China and northern Thailand. Like monk fruit’s flavor, its aroma is citrusy and powdery with distinct nutty and caramel undertones.
Demeter Fragrance Library debuted its first scents in
1996. These three offerings set the stage for what would follow: a collection of fragrances ranging from traditional perfumes to avant-garde scents. Dirt, Grass and Tomato remain popular today, well after their 1996 launch. Along with these are favorites such as Pixie Dust, Sunshine, Crayon, Kitten Fur, Hawaiian Vanilla and Lilac. The brand operates both in the United States and Europe, where it’s called The Library of Fragrance. It has produced nearly 400 fragrances to date.
