He is honored for his astonishing career in fragrance in collaboration with designer houses before 2009 when he started his namesake house <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/maison-francis-kurkdjian\">Maison Francis Kurkdjian<\/a>, following the meeting with Marc Chaya, a former associate of Ernst &amp; Young. Now, Maison Francis Kurkdijan is one of the most sought-after perfume brands in the world. Chances are you own and love many of the fragrances he created for some of the greatest contemporary designers and brands, such as<a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/davidoff\"> Davidoff<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/jean-paul-gaultier\/jean-paul-gaultier\/men-cologne?sid=jegmts25z\">Jean Paul Gaultier<\/a>, Kenzo, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/elizabeth-arden\/green-tea\/women-perfume?sid=w173090g\">Elizabeth Arden<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/narciso-rodriguez\/narciso-rodriguez\/women-perfume?sid=nar1ozedpw\">Narciso Rodriguez<\/a> and Dior. His accomplishments as a nose are prolific and many of the scents are considered masterpieces.<\/p>\n<h2>Who Is Francis Kurkdijan?<\/h2>\n<p>Francis Kurkdjian is a French perfumer of Armenian descent and was born in Grasse, France surrounded by fragrant fields of roses, jasmine, and lavender. He was raised in a little town called Gournay-sur-Marne in the East suburbs of Paris, which became his home ever since. At the age of 15, he knew he would become a perfumer and he created his very first fragrance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/jean-paul-gaultier\/jean-paul-gaultier\/men-cologne?sid=jegmts25z\">Le Male for Gaultier<\/a> in 1995 when he was only 25. It went on to become one of the most iconic masculine fragrances of the 1990s, and set a new standard for aromatic colognes with its flowery, powdery, spicy and sweet notes, expertly blended and is one of the bestselling designer colognes for men in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Four years later in 1999, Francis Kurkdjian created <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/elizabeth-arden\/green-tea\/women-perfume?sid=w173090g\">Elizabeth Arden Green Tea<\/a> a fresh fragrance that opens with the calming and \u00a0scent of citruses and the note of\u00a0 green tea, one of the first tea fragrances \u00a0on the market.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/narciso-rodriguez\/narciso-rodriguez\/women-perfume?sid=nar1ozedpw\">Narciso Rodriguez\u00a0for Her<\/a> was composed by Francis Kurkdjian in 2004. Musk is the star of this fragrance and intertwines with amber that gives it a golden warmth, and a petal-like tactile touch that is reminiscent of clean skin that bears faint traces of floral soap.<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, he was named a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. He started his luxury brand Maison Francis Kurkdjian in 2009 and it became a worldwide success.<\/p>\n<p>Maison Francis Kurkdjian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/maison-francis-kurkdjian\/l-eau-a-la-rose\/women-perfume\">L\u2019Eau de Rose<\/a> was made with the essence of 150 damask roses and is a fruity, dewy, feminine floral, sweet with honey and lychee. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfume.com\/blog\/7-best-oud-fragrances-oud-perfumes-colognes\/\">Oud<\/a> is very common in fragrances, but Francis Kurkdjian\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/maison-francis-kurkdjian\/maison-francis-kurkdjian-oud\/women-perfume?sid=maimw2485\">Oud\u00a0<\/a>stands above them all. It is lighter and fresher than most oud perfumes with saffron and resins that from the start settles down into a lovely warm and soft fragrance. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/maison-francis-kurkdjian\/aqua-vitae\/women-perfume\">Maison Francis Kurkdjian Acqua Vitae\u00a0<\/a> was inspired by life, that irresistible attraction shared by billions. Aqua Vitae is fresh and clean with Calabrese lemon and Sicilian mandarin shimmering like light on golden skin.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.perfume.com\/maison-francis-kurkdjian\/baccarat-rouge-540\/women-perfume\">Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540<\/a>, which was launched in \u00a02014 as a commemorative fragrance to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Baccarat and only 250 bottles were made. The demand was so high that it became a permanent edition for the Maison Francis Kurkdjian collection, has achieved a cult status and is considered a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfume.com\/blog\/classic-perfumes-to-welcome-2023-in\/\">modern classic<\/a>. It is a bright perfume that has the same slightly mesmerizing effect on the skin that fine crystal has on the eyes.\u00a0Rouge 540 opens with a quick shot of blood orange and there is a golden aura around the spices and ambery vanilla at the heart and base.
