When you look at fragrance history and culture, rose and jasmine perfumes, considered \u201cfeminine\u201d have always been popular with men in the Middle East and do not have a sexual classification. Perfume is art, and art is for everybody. The distinction masculine \/ feminine is economic, not creative. In an interview with the renowned master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena he said, \u201cI invite men to use perfumes that are feminine and vice versa. I do not use the wording \u201cunisex\u201d; I prefer to say: to be shared.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The first fragrance that was marketed as a gender-neutral fragrance was Calvin Klein CK One<\/a>. In 1994, it was a game changer both in terms of perfume and image; it completely redefined the Western market perception of gender with the slogan\u201d CK One by Calvin Klein, \u201ca new fragrance for a man or a woman.\u201d\u00a0Androgynous models were featured in the ad campaign, no notes were listed, and it was the first-time perfume was sold in record stores. Its clean citrus musky scent is still as modern and fresh nearly thirty years later. Since its release, CK One fragrance has become one of the best-selling perfumes in history, with over $1 billion dollars in sales.<\/p>\n<\/div>
