She’s a 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30. She’s a fashion and costume historian. And she’s got impeccable style, no matter whether she’s getting ready for a day of lectures for her MA in Costume Studies at New York University or she’s heading out for a city break across the world.
So, we thought it was about time we pulled together all of our favorite Shelby outfits from the year.
1. All Black Grunge at New York Fashion Week
Shelby fuses together incredible fashion looks with a dash of costume historian magic, and one of our favorite examples of just that was at New York Fashion Week. Shelby paired this grungy black dress with its cut-outs and ribbons with a black chain bag and black biker boots. Those oversized silver earrings really bring the whole look together.

2. Two-Tone Gingham For New York Times Style
We’re not sure whether we love Shelby’s all-black outfits or her colorful ones more. This two-tone gingham look is certainly up there with the best, styled as part of a shoot with the New York Times Style. We love the contrasting shades between the layers as well as the all-white pointy heels and tiny bag.

3. Monochrome Leather and Graphic Prints
We were super excited to see that Shelby was heading to London, and we just knew this blogger would take British street style to a whole new level. She didn’t disappoint, wearing a dark green leather coat and pairing it with pointy boots of the same shade. She finished off the look with a white graphic print tee, black trousers, and her signature statement accessories. Extra bonus points for those seriously cool sunglasses.

4. Neutral Tones With a Dash of Fur
Do we love those black-and-white sunglasses the most or maybe the little Comme des Garçons bag? It’s impossible to choose. Another look that brought together Shelby’s NYC style with a dash of London glamor, this tonal look was perfect for the season. We love the smart casual effect of the tailored yet loose trousers.

5. Flawless Turquoise Vacation Vibes
Shelby channeled Beyonce style on vacation earlier this year and we fell in love with her bright blue two piece. Queen vibes reached a whole new dimension when we saw Shelby swishing her hair aboard a yacht with a backdrop of the Mediterranean. With white toenails and a dash of gold jewelry, this is the very definition of a luxe summer fit.
