She stole the show at this year’s Super Bowl, announced her second pregnancy, and got us rushing out to buy limited edition Fenty Beauty products all in one swift move. Rihanna will forever be one of our favorite celebrities and never fails to impress no matter what she’s doing or where she’s going.
So, to celebrate Rihanna’s birthday, we’ve rounded up all of her best looks from her reigning history. Read on for all of Rihanna’s best outfits over the years!
Rihanna Dazzling in Silver at Art Basel in Miami, Florida in 2022
Rihanna took the whole “shine bright like a diamond” thing literally when she and ASAP Rocky showed up at Art Basel in Miami, Florida in December 2022. This incredible all-silver look may look like an all in one but was actually made up of a bejeweled Khaite top and shiny JW Anderson pants. She finished off the look with black glasses, a Briony Raymond necklace, and a sparkling bag.
Rihanna Wearing Yves Saint Laurent’s Fuzzy Heart Coat in 2016
Ri Ri wasn’t the only celebrity to rock the viral Yves Saint Laurent fuzzy heart coat but she might just have been the woman to wear it best. This oversized fluffy number retailed for around $15,000 and was also seen on celebs like Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner. She finished it off with a black baseball cap and black strappy heels.
Wearing a Swarovski crystal-encrusted “naked dress” at CFDA Awards in 2014
Almost every celebrity has had a ‘naked dress’ at some point in their styling history and Rihanna’s most definitely stole the show as one of the most impressive. She wore this sheer, Swarovski-crystal-encrusted Adam Selman gown to the CFDA Fashion Awards back in 2014 and said her only regret about the look was “for wearing a thong that wasn’t bedazzled. That’s the only regret I have in my life.”
Rihanna Wearing Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci at the BRIT awards in 2012
Let’s throw things back a notch to one of Rihanna’s earliest viral dresses at the BRIT awards in 2012. This glamorous sequin dress, designed by Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy Haute Couture, made international headlines for its plunging neckline and suave finish. Those brown leather gloves and the thigh-high split made the whole outfit even more eye-catching.
Rihanna Wearing Comme des Garçons at the MET Gala 2017
We could talk all day about Rihanna’s MET Gala outfits (who remembers that incredible bright yellow dress by Guo Pei?) but our overall favorite has to be this unique Comme des Garçons dress in 2017. Perfectly fitting the Avant Garde dress code, Rihanna looked incredible in a dress its designer Rei Kawakubo once described as: “imagining punks in the eighteenth century…a time of so many revolutions.”
Rihanna Wearing All The Colors at Barbados Crop Over Festival in 2017
It’s hard to put into words the joy on Rihanna’s face each time she appears at Barbados’ Crop Over Festival and we love seeing how much she enjoys spending time celebrating her home country. And the awe-inspiring outfits she always picks make the occasion even more exciting. The blue wig, multi-coloured jewel encrusted two-piece, and feathered wings made this look one of our all-time top picks.
Rihanna Wearing Givenchy at the NAACP Image Awards 2020
Everybody should watch Rihanna’s NAACP Image speech and not just because of the wonderful purple dress she wore at the time. Speaking all about equality and asking everyone to step up and do their bit, the speech made international news back in 2020.
Some of the speech included: “If there’s anything that I’ve learned it’s that we can only fix this world together. We can’t do it divided, I cannot emphasize that enough. We can’t let the de-sensitivity seep in: “If it’s your problem, it’s not mine. It’s a woman’s problem. It’s a black people problem. It’s a poor people problem.
How many of us in this room have colleagues, partners, friends of other races, sexes, religions? So when we’re marching, protesting and posting about the Michael Brown juniors and Atatiana Jefferson of the World, tell your friends to pull up.”
