Guy Laroche Perfume for Women
At 15, he sold sketches at Yves Saint Laurent; at 17, he assisted Dorothée Bis. Guy Laroche studied ready-to-wear manufacturing in the United States and returned to Paris to open his first fashion house in 1957. Laroche—the king of Bermuda shorts and culottes—was among the first designers to create separates for women. In 1966, Laroche launched Fidji for women, followed by J'ai Ose in 1977 and the classic Drakkar Noir for men in 1982. Clandestine and Horizon colognes added to his respected cache. Laroche, passed away in 1989, but his highly-regarded fashion peers keep the Laroche brand alive for this simple, talented and unaffected Frenchman.

I remember my mother wearing this perfume when i was a child. The perfume was just her! My mother was and still is a very beautiful woman. We lived on a vineyard and she made this beautiful cheesecloth dress. When i became a mother she gave me the dress as it was back in fashion again and the scent of Fidji was still on it! This is why i am tracking the perfume down to get for her for christmas. she lives in the bush and it is hard to find! My mother is 71 years old,and still the most beautiful and elegant woman i know.

I buy what my wife likes and this time it was Drakkar Noir by Guy Laroche. She says it has a nice noticeable scent but not overpowering. I bought the tester as it is for personal use and other than being in a white box that says test it is the same bottle and cap. We check the scents at the mall department stores then buy here at half the cost.

I have been enjoying Fidji for over 25 years. At one time it was hard to find, I would only come across Fidji in the international airports. It's a wonderfully clean, fresh, lightly floral scent that everyone asks me for the name of. I am also enjoying the free shipping !!! That is a great bonus. I will buy this fragrance as long as they make it.
