Review of Acqua di Selva by Catherine Cohen
My all time favourite men's cologne. I first experienced it on my Italian boyfriend in Glasgow in 1960! When I was in London later I used to wear it myself until a boyfriend stole it! Now living in Spain it has become harder to find it. My husband loves it. Why do perfumiers let great smells go?

Old but still good EDC fougere. Initial blast of top notes come off a bit harsh, but settles down rather quickly for a pleasant, masculine scent. Good for 2 hours since it's Eau De Cologne, but still nice to have in your arsenal rotation.

This is my all time favorite fragrance it has a real clean masculine smell to it. I first got it in cologne sampler my then current girlfriend got me for Christmas of 1970. I bought another sampler myself just to get more Acqua Di Selva. I have bought it ever since although it often required some real detective work to get it! Now days with the internet I see no need to buy anything else! I think most of the girls I have dated have liked it although one girl who was an artist claimed it reminded her of the turpentine she used in painting. I do the fragrance was longer lasting.

I've been wearing this since the 60s. The top notes mellow into something quite distinctive yet unobtrusive, very much a forest scent. Unique and very masculine, rises above trendiness!

Review of Acqua di Selva by Dan E. Yoder
I have been using this cologne for more than 40 years (even through periods of scarce availability). Its wonderful woodsy (pine) aroma is rounded out and smoothed by citrus and basil spice. Most people would probably consider it a sports cologne as it has light to medium staying power, but, thankfully, it does not announce your approach 3 blocks away or cause people seated around you to flee, and even after a whole day, people (with sensitive noses and at close range) still remark on how good one smells. I buy the 6.7 oz splash size (at considerable savings) and easily transfer it to commercially available ($.75) spray bottles. Still the most elegant and subtle scent around.
