I decided to order First after reading all the great reviews, and I am so glad I did. The scent is soft, feminine and absolutely wonderful. It makes you feel so elegant and beautiful. I can’t wait to wear it on Thanksgiving Day, I’m having my family over for dinner, and I’m sure I’ll be asked what is that beautiful scent you are wearing. Thanks to all the great reviews, I picked the right perfume

this is a classic ive only known one person who has actually heard of this perfume, i hate to think so many people are missing out on this. hard to describe this one. how about money. this perfume says money. if you can understand that, thats all ya need.

Every woman should claim a special fragrance with which she is identified. For me that fragrance is FIRST. For over 25 years, my husband, son and friends have variously described my scent as "soft", "luscious", "etherial", "sweet", "exhilerating" and "beautiful". Naturally they have grown to think of ME that way! Many women enjoy FIRST, but as with all fragrances, it takes on a unique scent as it blends with a woman's chemistry. FIRST remains a classic. Every woman should try it at least once.

This is a timeless fragrance. Though I am a bit past middle age I dislike a cologne that can be associated with the the elder generation. Not so with this elegant fragrance. Buy it, wear it and enjoy the many compliments you'll get.

Ever since I discovered First, 25 years ago as a gift on my 40th birthday, it's been my fragance! I love the Body Lotion because it gives me a lift as I put it on after my shower. A bit of aroma therapy in the morning! It's gentle and feels good on my skin.

I'm new at this, My favorite perfume is FIRST by Van Cleef & Arpels, from Paris, France. I was first introduced to this perfume about 25 years ago, it is a soft and sensual perfume, very delicate, yet it will linger when you put it on. A fragrance that gets noticed as soon as you walk into a room as a light and delicate blossom. A fragrance that will haunt you to search for it until you find it, as I have done for the last 25 years. FIRST will be your LAST perfume that you ever buy.

First is one of my favorite fragrances. However I did not receive the exact item I ordered from Perfume.com. They must have sent a replacement which disappointed me because i do like the gold cylinder bottle which I had ordered.

my mom wore this perfume when i was little (and still does) and when i got old enough to start wearing perfume in high school, i started wearing it and have ever since. i'm very allergic to most perfumes... there are only about 4 that i like that don't make me sick and this is one of them. everyone loves it; men, children and my friends. it's not too strong but it has a presence, as someone said above. it's lovely for daytime and night. i get compliments constantly!! it's a sexy floral scent... to me, it's somewhat similar to chanel no. 5 but less stuffy... it's fresher and younger but still very sophisticated. i love it and will no doubt continue wearing it for a very long time, if not forever. i'm always trying new things but i either have an allergic reaction or i wind up back with my first. :)

About 20 years ago, one of my bosses gave me a gift set of First by Van Cleef & Arpels. The minute I put it on, I fell in love with it. It has a delicate floral scent and whenver I wear it I receive many compliments. It is one of those perfumes that you want to save for special occasions, but perfect to wear every day. I was first introduced to Van Cleef 27 years ago and have since continuously used it, and just love the fragrance so much. It has an indescribable effect on me, uplifting, sensuous and womanly and its the perfume I ALWAYS request for my birthdays and for Christmas or just plain indulgence to myself. Some years ago I aided a blind man to the bank teller's counter and his remarks to me were 'lady, you DO smell nice' What more can I say?!!

2.5 stars for First. Notes are floral black currant, jasmine, narcissus, sandelwood and vanilla. First smells expensive and sexy. I'm not sure I will purchase a bottle as First has a strange note (perhaps the narcissus?) that doesn't agree with me.

I have worn First for many years. It is subtle, elegant, feminine and very sexy. It is not overpowering and is really better that way ... when you are dancing with that special man in your life, wearing First will allow him his first entry into who you really are as a confident woman, one who is not afraid to be independent yet totally feminine and sensual.
